The Synthetic Turf Process
Consultation
We start with one of Zion’s expert consultants to visit your property to look at the area you want to cover with synthetic turf and properly measure everything, including potential obstacles. This will allow us to assess what has to be done and prepare a quote for you with all the details so you can make an informed decision.
Preparation
To prepare for the installation, we will remove the existing turf and soil to create a stable base before levelling the ground to ensure proper drainage and a smooth surface. Next, we will create an aggregate base of crushed stone or gravel for drainage and stability, which will then be compacted, leveled and graded.
Installation
Before laying out the synthetic turf rolls, we lay a weed barrier fabric over the base to prevent weed growth through the turf. The turf is cut and shaped to fit the specific area, with particular attention to edges and around obstacles to guarantee a perfect fit.
If necessary, multiple pieces of turf are seamed together using special adhesives and techniques to create a seamless appearance. After infill materials are spread across the turf for weight, stability and resilience, the turf fibers are brushed to stand upright, providing a natural look and feel.
After the installation, we will clean up everything to leave the area spotless and conduct a thorough walkthrough to ensure you are satisfied with our work.
